ONYX sporting regulations define racing standards, stewarding procedures and competitive systems designed to ensure fair and structured sim racing events.

1. Purpose & Sporting Principles 1.1 Onyx organizes and operates online sim racing events through its official platforms and communication channels. 1.2 These regulations govern all sporting, organizational, and participation aspects of Onyx events. 1.3 By registering for an event, all participants confirm that they have read, understood, and accepted these regulations in full. 2. Authority & Governance 2.1 Onyx Race Control is responsible for the management of all events, including:
Sporting decisions
Stewarding and penalties
Event operations and scheduling
2.2 Race Control decisions are final and binding. 2.3 All decisions are made in the interest of fairness, sporting integrity, and the smooth continuation of the competition.
3.2 Event-specific details (calendar, format, race length, timetable) are published separately for each event. 3.3 Unless otherwise stated:
Races use rolling starts
Open setups are permitted
Weather and track conditions are announced prior to the event
4. Driver Eligibility & Entry 4.1 Drivers must:
Use their primary racing account
Meet minimum safety and skill requirements defined per event
Provide accurate registration information
4.2 Entry fees, where applicable, are published before registration opens. 4.3 Onyx reserves the right to limit grid sizes or refuse entries to preserve race quality. 5. Divisions & Competitive Balance 5.1 To ensure fair competition, Onyx events may be divided into multiple divisions (e.g. PRO, AM, ROOKIE). 5.2 Division assignment is determined by skill indicators selected by the organizer. 5.3 All divisions may compete on the same grid unless otherwise stated. 5.4 Drivers are eligible for awards and prizes only within their assigned division, unless explicitly stated. 6. Prize Pools (General Information) 6.1 Prize pools may vary between events and championships. 6.2 Prize pool size is influenced by factors including:
Number of participants
Entry fees
Sponsorship contributions
Event format
6.3 Onyx aims to provide competitive and generous prize pools while maintaining sustainable operations. 6.4 Prize pool details are always announced before the start of an event. 6.5 Prize distribution is split across divisions to reward:
Competitive performance
Clean driving
Improvement
Sportsmanship
6.6 Prize pool structures may differ between divisions and events. 7. Media & Publicity Rights 7.1 By participating, drivers grant Onyx the right to use:
Driver names
Car liveries
Race footage and results
for broadcasts, highlights, promotional material, and official publications. 8. Sporting Conduct 8.1 All drivers are expected to race responsibly and respectfully. 8.2 The following behaviors are prohibited:
Intentional contact
Reckless or dangerous driving
Blocking or weaving
Unsafe rejoins
Retaliation on track or after the finish
8.3 Track limits, incidents, and off-track penalties are monitored using the simulation’s native systems and steward review where applicable. 9. Overtaking & Defending 9.1 The responsibility for a safe overtake lies primarily with the overtaking driver. 9.2 Defending drivers may choose a single defensive line but may not weave or block. 9.3 When cars are significantly alongside, racing room must be given. 9.4 Minor contact may be judged as a racing incident at the discretion of Race Control. 10. Communication 10.1 Official communication is conducted via:
In-game messaging
Discord or designated event channels
10.2 Drivers must follow Race Control instructions at all times. 10.3 Abuse of text or voice communication may result in penalties. 11. Protests & Reviews 11.1 Protests must be submitted through the official Onyx protest system within the stated deadline. 11.2 Protests must include:
Event and session
Lap or timestamp
Drivers involved
Supporting evidence
11.3 Race Control will review all protests and publish decisions where applicable. 11.4 Frivolous or abusive protests may result in penalties. 12. types of Penalties 12.1 Possible penalties include, but are not limited to:
Warnings
Time penalties
Drive-through penalties
Disqualification
Event or championship suspension
Permanent exclusion
12.2 Penalties may escalate for repeat offenses. 12.3 Severe unsporting conduct or intentional incidents may result in immediate exclusion. 13. Penalties & Fixed Sanctions 13.1 Penalty Philosophy 13.1 Onyx applies a fixed penalty system to ensure consistency, transparency, and equal treatment of all participants. 13.2 Penalties are issued based on the nature and severity of the infringement. 13.3 Fixed penalties apply unless Race Control determines that escalation is required due to intent or repeated behavior.

14 Repeat Offenses 14.1 Multiple infractions within the same event will result in escalating penalties:
Second offense: penalty doubled
Third offense: Disqualification
14.2 Repeated offenses across multiple events may result in suspension or championship exclusion. 14.3 Disqualification & Bans 14.4 The following offenses result in immediate Disqualification:
Intentional crashing
Deliberate race manipulation
Cheating or exploitation of simulation mechanics
Account sharing
14.5 Severe or repeated violations may result in temporary suspension or permanent exclusion from Onyx events. 14.6 Penalty Application & Authority 14.7 Penalties may be applied during the race or added post-race. 14.8 Race Control decisions are final and not subject to appeal beyond the official protest process. *Participating in our events means that you are the one responsible to follow the rules*
